DANIEL SALEH

From the age of 5 I knew that for the rest of my life I would be captivated by music and guitar particularly. I can remember vividly sitting on the floor in my old house playing ‘Queen’s Greatest Hits II’ and ‘Crossroads’ by Bon Jovi on repeat until eventually I broke the cassette! My introduction to Genesis came later into my early twenties, when after falling in love with the music of Phillip Bailey, I started listening to ‘Collins Era’ period of Genesis and then eventually the back catalogue. Every day I find something new about Genesis that blows me away and that is awesome!

I began playing at the age of 11 after lessons were offered in my school. I started with classical guitar and went through the grades but eventually became bored and wanted to explore electric guitar after getting into heavy metal and it’s endless genres, gradually becoming obsessed with guitar players such as Randy Rhoads and Yngwie Malmsteen amongst others.

After leaving LIPA and having lessons off teachers such as our very own Jim Faulkner, Rick Graham, Dave Bridge and Jack Gardiner I developed a keen interest in the acoustic and instrumental side of guitar which led me to writing my own music and performing music around Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

I was lucky enough to be offered an audition by Brian who had seen me play around the city and via videos I had been uploading and I have to say that I am grateful that I spent a lot of time in various styles of guitar because the music that I have had the privilege to learn and tour this year has been an amazing challenge and I look at guitar in a completely new way.

I am loving playing with The Carpet Crawlers as they are ridiculous musicians who play for the love of music.

See you guys on the road this year!
